Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in the options on IAM Gold (IAG) is moving higher amid a second day of increased options activity in the Toronto-based mining company. 8,200 calls and 1,175 puts traded on the stock yesterday. Shares are down a nickel to $10.92 today and options volume is 4X the daily average. 14,000 calls and 1,650 puts so far. February 12 calls are seeing the bulk of the activity and implied volatility in IAG options is up 24 percent to 52.

 

Volume Signals
Williams Companies (WMB) options volume is running 8X the (22-day) average, with 164,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 99 percent of the volume.

Boeing (BA) options volume is 2.5X, the average daily, with 76,000 contracts traded and put volume representing 58 percent of the activity.

EBAY options volume is running 2.5X the average daily, with 68,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 62 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in CBS, Vodafone (VOD), and Tyco International (TYC).
