Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in the options on Caesars Entertainment (CZR) is up ahead of earnings and amid increasing call activity in the name. The casino operator is due to report Monday afternoon and is also considered to be a beneficiary of news that a Nevada governor signed an online gaming bill into law. The stock is up 42 cents to $11.60 ahead of the news. Meanwhile, 5,380 calls and 195 puts traded in CZR so far today. March 15 calls are the most active. 2,300 contracts traded. March 12.5, March 10, and June 17.5s are the next most actives and 30-day implied volatility in CZR moved up 23.5 percent to 107.5.

 

 

Volume Signals
Hewlett Packard (HPQ) options volume is running 3.5X the (22-day) average, with 211,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 58 percent of the volume.

AIG options volume is 2.5X the average daily, with 196,000 contracts traded and call volume representing 58 percent of the activity.

Abercrombie (ANF) options volume is running 2.5X the average daily, with 59,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 54 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in Gerdau (GGB), Aruba Networks (ARUN), and the mini-NASDAQ 100 Index (MNX).
