Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in the options on MagicJack (CALL) is moving higher as the stock comes under pressure Wednesday. The stock is down 97 cents to $16.34 in active trading of 382,000 shares. Typical share volume through midday is about 169,000. Meanwhile, 2,400 puts and 2,535 calls traded in the name, which is 5X the daily average. The flow is scattered across a number of different contracts. February 15 puts and June 17.5 calls are the most actives. Meanwhile, 30-day implied volatility in the options on the stock is moving up 15 percent to 75.5.

 

Volume Signals
Seagate Tech (STX) options volume is running 2X the (22-day) average, with 23,000 contracts traded and put volume accounting for 54 percent of the volume.

Clearwire (CLWR) options volume is 2.5X, the average daily, with 22,000 contracts traded and put volume representing 77 percent of the activity.

Boeing (BA) options volume is running 2X the average daily, with 40,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 60 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in MetroPCS (PCS), Constellation Brands (STZ), and Apollo Group (APOL).
