Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in the options on Boeing (BA) is moving higher today. Shares are down 3.2 percent to $74.50 and the biggest losers in the Dow Jones Industrial Average on reports Japanese airlines suspended all 787 Dreamliner flights following recent problems with the aircrafts. The stock is down and options on Boeing are busy today. 23,000 calls and 25,000 puts so far. February 75 calls and January 72.5 puts are the most actives and implied volatility in Boeing’s list options is up 11 percent to 23.

 

Volume Signals
DELL options volume is running 3X the (22-day) average, with 115,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 68 percent of the volume.

iShares Hong Kong Fund (EWH) options volume is 80.5X, the average daily, with 221,000 contracts traded and put volume representing 50 percent of the activity.

Salesforce.com (CRM) options volume is running 3X the average daily, with 37,000 contracts traded and put volume accounting for 62 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in Genworth (GNW), Chipotle Mexican Grill (CMG), and ARM Holdings (ARMH).
