Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in Xerox (XRX) is moving higher along with the stock today. XRX is up 32 cents to $9.28, new 52-week highs, in active trading of 11.5 million shares. Meanwhile, 11,000 calls and 2,170 puts traded in the name so far. April 9, May 9 and May 10 calls are the most actives and 30-day implied volatility in the options on the stock is up 10 percent to 28. Increased activity in XRX comes ahead of earnings, the morning of Apr 23.

 

Volume Signals
Microsoft (MSFT) options volume is running 3X the (22-day) average, with 328,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 65 percent of the volume.

Noble Energy (NE) options volume is 9X, the average daily, with 87,000 contracts traded and call option volume representing 97 percent of the activity.

iShares Japan Fund (EWJ) options volume is running 2X the average daily, with 62,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 93 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in Home Depot (HD), Hartford (HIG), and Texas Instruments (TXN).
