Implied Volatility Mover
Implied volatility in the options on Clearwire (CLWR) are moving higher amid active trading in the stock today. CLWR gained 30 cents to $2.70 on heavy volume of 22 million shares. In options action, about 24,000 calls and 2,150 puts traded on the ticker. December and January 3 calls are the most actives, with about 12,000 and 6,800 contracts traded, respectively. Meanwhile, 30-day implied volatility in CLWR options moved up 26 percent to 92.

 

Volume Signals
AIG options volume is running 3.5X the (22-day) average, with 192,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 73 percent of the volume.

Electronic Arts (EA) options volume is 8.5X, the average daily, with 34,000 contracts traded and call volume representing 99 percent of the activity.

Oil Service HOLDRS (OIH) options volume is running 4X the average daily, with 30,000 contracts traded and call volume accounting for 84 percent of the activity.

Increasing options activity is also being seen in Genworth (GNW), Melco Crown Entertainment (MPEL), and Marathon Petroleum (MPC).
