On Tuesday, Options, the provider of the Options PIPE? Private Financial Cloud services platform, announced it is opening a Chicago office on March 1.

The company said this comes in response to a rising demand for its services in this area. It will allow?the firm to meet the needs of its expanding regional clients as well as to communicate with local proprietary trading firms.

CEO?Nigel Kneafsey said in a press release,?”Options’ continued expansion is the result of a focused business strategy of providing our clients with the closest proximity and lowest latency access to the markets in which they are executing their trading strategies. With the opening of the?Chicago?office, the recently-launched rebranding initiative and other business-generating activities planned for this year, Options is better poised to achieve strong growth in 2013.” ??

Since 2007, Options has had a presence in the?Chicago?area as it started offering co-location services at its Cermak datacenter facility. Its new Chicago office will expand its?presence in major global financial markets such as New York,?London?and?Hong Kong.

Options has 130 clients and 80 employees worldwide and its growth in the U.S. market has been attributed to the Volker rule and other regulatory requirements that financial services firms face, the growing familiarity and comfort with cloud models, and increasing cost-consciousness by firms, according to its press release.?
