Options:?Exchange-listed options trading volume hit 371,147,433 contracts in April, a 16 percent increase from last year; it is now the highest April volume level on record. The month’s average daily volume was 16,870,338 contracts, 6 percent greater than last year’s 15,982,030 contracts.
Year-to-date volume is 1,364,727,666 contracts, down 1 percent from the 1,380,749,815 contracts from the previous year.
Futures:?Futures cleared by OCC in April reached?5,244,754 contracts, up 123 percent from the previous April. OCC cleared an average of?238,398 futures contracts per day last month. This is 103 percent higher from April 2012.
Year-to-date cleared futures volume has increased 87 percent with?18,560,161 contracts this year.?
Securities Lending:?OCC’s securities lending CCP activities saw a 53 percent increase in new loans over April 2012 from its 121,910 transactions last month. Year-to-date stock loan activity rose 38 percent from 2012 with 408,486 new loan transactions in 2013. The average daily loan value at OCC in April was $48,863,005,728.
