On Thursday, NYSE Euronext (NYSE:NYX) announced February 2013 volume figures.?

In February, NYSE Euronext U.S. equity options (NYSE Arca and NYSE Amex) ADV of 4.3 million contracts increased 5.7% compared to the previous year but fell 5.2% from January 2013 figures. ? ?

NYSE Euronext?s U.S. options exchanges accounted for 28.2% of total U.S. consolidated equity options trading in February 2013.

Earlier in the day, the exchange announced that ceased plans to sell its 4.79% stake ($46 million) in the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd. after not finding any buyers, reported Dow Jones.

The sale was to take place in the?secondary market on Thursday with a price range of Rs 1,005.10 – 1,026.25 apiece.

The sale had been announced last month by the exchange.

Meanwhile one proposed transaction that did move forward was one for the?London Stock Exchange Group PLC. It announced on Thursday the completed plan for its ?536 million ($695 million) transaction to purchase a majority stake in the clearing house LCH.Clearnet Group Ltd., reported The Wall Street Journal.

LSE’s stake in the clearing house will jump from its present 2.3% share to 57.8%. One year ago, the exchange had wanted to purchase a a 60% share of LCH.

Nasdaq OMX also expanded its share and now Nasdaq OMX Chief Executive Robert Greifeld will become a LCH board member.

The acquisition still has to receive clearance from the U.K.?s financial regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA).?
